~ Jordan O’ Connor Composer/ Bassist/ Arranger/ Producer/ Film Editor
Recently, Annie took part in the TD Jazz Festival, performing a range of genres, along with originals from her self produced and arranged debut album ‘Shades of Red’, which was released in 2014.
One of the songs from ‘Shades of Red’ will be used as the theme song in a Massive charity campaign for The Youthdale Foundation – A charity for children with mental illness, in 2015. Annie has been asked to climb Mount Columbia, one of the tallest mountains in Canada with thirty of these remarkable children and this adventure of a lifetime will be documented on film for the campaign, set for launch next year.
Sounding entirely fresh yet somehow familiar upon the very first listen, her music will move you.
With an inspirational style that sits somewhere between Chantal Kreviazuk, Sarah Brightman and Kate Bush, Annie Bonsignore crosses over seamlessly from infectious pop to effortless opera.
From the instantly inviting “Best of Me” to the ethereal reverie that is the title track, Shades of Red takes the listener on a rewarding journey of emotional depth.
