About Annie

Annie Bonsignore is a multi-talented singer/songwriter extraordinaire.  Annie was born into an incredibly musical family, she could sing before she could talk, was competing in Regional Esteddfodua’s by the age of six years old and composed her first song at age nine.

This South African native grew up on the stage, performing and exploring everything from Mozart to musical theatre, folk, country and jazz.  Annie has performed in London, New York, South Africa and of course Toronto, which has been her home now for the last twelve years.

She has over 18 years of experience as a vocal coach and choir director and continues to teach voice in Toronto where she is quickly making a name for herself in the Toronto Music Scene.  The people are talking about Annie who performs live with some of the best musicians in Town.

About Annie – What they’re saying

“Annie is a remarkable singer/songwriter and interpreter of jazz and pop styles… I always look forward to playing music with her… she has an amazing repertoire and an unlimited future that is full of sparkle and depth”
~ George Koller
“These are fantastic! Beautiful. I love the feel and the harmony — and your singing and piano playing are wonderful…I’m moved by your music”
~ Jordan O’ Connor Composer/ Bassist/ Arranger/ Producer/ Film Editor

Recently, Annie took part in the TD Jazz Festival, performing a range of genres, along with originals from her self produced and arranged debut album ‘Shades of Red’, which was released in 2014.

One of the songs from ‘Shades of Red’ will be used as the theme song in a Massive charity campaign for The Youthdale Foundation – A charity for children with mental illness, in 2015.  Annie has been asked to climb Mount Columbia, one of the tallest mountains in Canada with thirty of these remarkable children and this adventure of a lifetime will be documented on film for the campaign, set for launch next year.

Sounding entirely fresh yet somehow familiar upon the very first listen, her music will move you.

With an inspirational style that sits somewhere between Chantal Kreviazuk, Sarah Brightman and Kate Bush, Annie Bonsignore crosses over seamlessly from infectious pop to effortless opera.

From the instantly inviting “Best of Me” to the ethereal reverie that is the title track, Shades of Red takes the listener on a rewarding journey of emotional depth.
