“Be Careful What You Wish For” is Bonsignore’s second album, arriving in 2017 and packed with soulful, reflective writing, while staying true to the textures and compositional style found in her first album “Shades Of Red”. This all-original record features many of Annie’s long-time collaborators. It’s also notable for being entirely self-produced and recorded.

I must thank you, my family, friends, and supporters for your never-ending encouragement and unwavering confidence. It is my desire that you understand a bit of my heart and the inspiration behind this collection of music. I am one of seven children; however by the age of fourteen, I had tragically lost three brothers…and my parents had been forced to say goodbye to three sons. These absolutely horrible events shadowed my view of everything. I always expected the worst to happen and every negative incident reinforced this believe. On December 13, 2013, I rediscovered an old song I had written many years earlier. The lyrics were a prayer – a plea to ‘God’ – the Universe, or whatever good is out there that might be bigger than myself. My petition was that I be rescued, healed, and allowed to feel again. I sat at my piano with tears streaming down my face, begging for someone or something to help me. This was the day that I began to awaken. I began to notice patterns in my life that gave me the sense that there was structure and guidance available for me. One day I will tell you about the power that the numbers 11-11 came to have for me. I had a huge shift in awareness, as if I was waking up for the first time.  I began to see wondrous things where only negativity had been before. Meditation and other tools helped my search for peace and a sense of well-being. A few ten-day silent retreats were also profoundly healing. The music in “Shades of Red” was real and raw, but you will hear and possibly feel a change now in my songwriting.

The music I write now is drawn from my experiences on this side of my ‘awakening’. Sometimes I almost feel it has been divinely inspired.

This CD represents a two-year project culminating in two weeks of jam-packed late-night recording sessions. It would never have seen the light of day without the help of the people who mean so much to me. To my parents, I love you. Thank you for instilling the gift of music in me. Special thanks to my amazing friends, Natalie Wong, Scott Neary, Amber Walton Amar, and Ross MacIntyre for adding your musical touches and for helping to bring my music to life. Brendan Mowat-Smith, your tireless help with mixing ‘Be The Mountain’ is so appreciated. I have been taking a ProTools course which allowed me to engineer and track four of the songs on the album myself, from home. Ben Spiller, Beverly Crombie Bruggemann, Keith Kerbler and Marshall Goodman, thank you for your assistance and friendship. Stu Harrison, thank you for coming through for me at the last second by connecting me with Mike Tompa. Mike, you are a genius! Cheryl Parsons, thank you for being a wonderful photographer and friend. To my friend Chad Maker, who designed the album art. Thank you kindly for your help with such short notice. Ultimately, the deadline helped us pull ‘Be Careful What You Wish For’ together.  And HERE IT IS!  In this cute little package just for you!”

Be The Mountain

Be The Mountain

We are love,
We are light
Have you ever seen a pink and blue sky?
All this beauty around us, it’s in us all

It’s in the air we breath
It’s in the stars we see
It is the fight that is our life
It’s always there

So be the mountain you know you are are
With this river running right through your heart
The strength within you will lead you there
See the sun, feel it there

Close your eyes, listen
Close your eyes, breath in
Show your love, give love
We must stand as one

The constant struggle of every day
Teach us lessons of hope and faith
To be better than yesterday
It’s in us all

So be the mountain you know you are are
With this river running right through your heart
The strength within you will lead you there
See the sun, feel it there

We are all human
We must stand as one
Close your eyes, breath in
Close your eyes, Listen

So climb the mountain
You know you can
With this river running right from your hands
Yhe strength within you will lead you there
See the sun, feel it there

Close your eyes, listen
Close your eyes, breath in
Show your love, give love
We must stand as one

You Fly

You Fly

Where do you go when you close your eyes
Must be a place that’s real nice to make you slumber in la la la la land
Dreaming your way through to six am, hitting the road it all starts again
Til you slumber in la la la la land

You light up like fireflies at night
You, up and away you’ll fly

I saw myself from a third eye view
Oh look, that’s me, is she dreaming too?
Her face was warm hair was softer too

Monkey mind will try to sway to future and past
Why do we stray when we’re safe here, in the present day

You light up like fireflies at night
You, up and away you’ll fly

Don’t get lost in the memories
There’s an escape from the world you see
Look inside yourself, you’ll find what you seek
There will be times when you’ll feel alone
Examine your heart, it’ll bring you home
Be patient, that’s the way it goes

You light up like fireflies at night
You, up and away you’ll fly

You light up like fireflies at night
You, up and away you’ll fly

Up and away you’ll fly

Louise

Now and then you come into my mind and I can’t help think to a time

We were young, about seven or eight, your hair, it reached the bottom of your spine

Oh I’d love to see you Louise, louise
Oh I’d love to know who you’ve become

After school every Friday I’d go to your house and practice the piano

You would practice and I’d play about
Sisters is what we’d call ourselves

Oh I’d love to see you Louise, louise
Oh I’d love to know who you’ve become

Little girls playing games in the sun as we buried our dreams in the sand

Then you’d kneel at the foot of your bed saying prayers I didn’t quite understand

Oh I’d love to see you Louise, louise
Oh I’d love to know who you’ve become

Oh I’d love to see you Louise, louise
Oh I’d love to know who you’ve become

Album: Be Careful What You Wish For

Be Careful What You Wish For

What has happened to mankind
Chasing money for sensations
Building cities in the skies
As we search for peace through our desires

Let’s love each other and find peace from all the pain
Let’s be a little kinder and maybe then we’ll see the change
So be careful what you wish for

Envy, anger, misery
That is not what makes us stronger
In this race to reach the top, what’s become of our true nature

To love each other and find peace from all the pain
To be a little kinder, maybe then you’ll see the change
So be careful what you wish for
Be careful what you wish for

We always want what we can’t have
Just let go of expectations
Be forgiving of yourself, just believe
The things we seek are deep within us

To love each other and find peace from all the pain
To be a little kinder, maybe then you’ll see the change
So be careful what you wish for
Be careful what you wish for

Ooooh Ooooh
Be careful what you wish for
Ooooh Ooooh
Be careful what you wish for

Album: Be Careful What You Wish For

My Love

Troubled waters, troubled seas
Is that what you see my love?
Behind that film, dig a little deeper
And you may just feel my love

When you asked me what I’m thinking
I wish I were the one who asked you first
Don’t know that I can tell you, my Love

I feel I’ve lived a thousand lives trying to trace the perfect life my love
I’ve forgotten what it’s like to give up my heart my love

You make me wanna be there to hold you through the pieces of your broken past
Please know that I want this, my love

Trust in me with your love
Trust in me with your love

And I’ll tell you what I’m thinking as I try to lose the pieces of my broken past
I want you and I want this, my Love.

Album: Be Careful What You Wish For

If You Don’t Return

Where did you go my love, why can’t I see you?
Come back to me my love and I’ll never leave you
Come back to me, come back to me
If you don’t return, if you don’t return

I recognized your soul the first day I met you
It was impossible to hide my love from you
Now I can’t see your soul
I can’t see your soul
Come back to me, I can’t see your soul

Tell me about your fears, I’ll fight them with you
Just let me in to untie the knots within you

If you don’t return, if you don’t return
I’ll choose myself, if you don’t return
If you don’t return, if you don’t return
I’ll choose myself, if you don’t return

Album: Be Careful What You Wish For

Dance Around The Sun

We don’t have superpowers and we can’t fly
Well… maybe sometimes in dreams
And there we’re rising over cities and streams
Gliding our fingertips on trees

Imagine if we had the choice to stay there
To live a life within our dreams
Where would you start and would there be only one sun
To help you cleanse yourself of sin

Let’s ride the wind for a day
Float by the stars
Drift through the milky way
Life is a crazy journey for everyone
Let’s go dance around the sun

Ooh whoah Dance around the sun (x2)

Some will say that when your life gets hard
Take a breath and count to ten
Give it time, you’ll see this too shall pass
Oh you’re stronger than you think

Choose a path that will not hurt another
Live and love honestly
How you see others is a deep reflection of how
Your life is going to be

Ooh Whoah Dance around the sun (x2)

Let’s ride the wind for a day
Float by the stars
Drift through the milky way
Life is a crazy journey for everyone
Let’s go dance around the sun (x2)
